The primary international airport, roughly 20 to 40 minutes by car from our three hotel blocks. Most guests will fly here. Give yourself a little extra buffer for check-in, as the airport's layout can take some getting used to.
We recommend arriving Thursday, or Friday morning, to settle in and enjoy the city before the weekend begins. Since the weekend falls on MLK holiday, we suggest departing Monday, January 18.
Because the weekend falls on MLK holiday weekend, flights fill early and fares tend to climb closer to the date. We suggest booking three to six months ahead and setting a fare alert on Google Flights. Most major U.S. cities offer direct routes into MEX.
A passport valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates is required. U.S. citizens do not need a visa.
We recommend using Uber while in Mexico City, including to and from the airport. It's the quickest, safest, and most affordable way to get around. We suggest skipping the Metro and street cabs. For an active, scenic alternative by day, Ecobici bike-share stations are all over the city.
The Mexican peso (MXN). Cards are accepted almost everywhere; keep small bills for markets and gratuities.
January brings warm, sunny days and cool evenings. Mexico City also sits at 7,300 feet, so drink plenty of water in the days before and during your trip. Pack a light jacket or wrap for the outdoor portions of the weekend, and comfortable wedges or block heels for grass and cobblestone underfoot.
Private shuttles will run to and from both the Friday welcome party and the Saturday wedding from the Four Seasons, JW Marriott, and Sofitel. Simply meet the shuttle in your hotel lobby at the appointed time. Timing details will be shared closer to the date.
